Under the National child Labor Project, nearly more than 90,000 students who have been studied in the special coaching institutes, have been permitted to join up in the normal schools, says P.Mohan, Minister for Rural Industries and Labor during his speech on the World Day Anti- Child Labor program.

During 2003, a State-level deed plan has been originated to close down child labor and is been strictly followed, he said.

Owing to the several measuring steps taken up by the Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha will soon make TamilNadu a child labor free state, he added.

Chief Minister has also ordered for several units including the Chennai District Child Protection Entity along with the Assistant Commissioner, Community Health Education Society and the Flower Bazaar Police Station to dole out stickers and pamphlets to various shops and public congested centers in the close vicinity.

These stickers mainly prompt Child Labor Free quotes and we are forecasting to stretch the propaganda to crowded market places like Burma Bazaar and also in T.Nagar, officials said

In Kancheepuram, as part of the Anti-Child Labor Day Events, officials have involved themselves in circulating incentives over 30 Child labors who have turned into students. Also pamphlets stressing the ills of the child labor have also been shared among the public.

Cheques for the amount of Rs.6000 have been doled out to the child labors who are now engaged in higher education, says Collector K. Baskaran.
