Soon, the Funeral Grounds in Chennai to Look Like Parks!

Now-a-days, people are spending their morning walk leisurely in several parks in their nearby vicinity that includes Sivan Park at K.K. Nagar, the scenic May Day Park in Chintadripet. And no wonder, soon many funeral grounds will also include in the above list.

In order to put a stop to all disruptive activities and misdeeds that takes place in the burial ground, the Chennai Corporation officials has resolute to bring in landscape, footpaths and vegetation on the grounds.

Our target is to alter all the burial grounds and craft them to appear alike to parks where public can fritter their free time, thus converting these spots dynamic and beneficial, says official.

As the first step, on Wednesday the Corporation officials examine the Velankadu burial ground at Anna Nagar to kick starts the project. This ground has been renounced to a private third party for its upholding and to curb the misdeed carried out there.

The only claim is that the corporation staff takes charge to accomplish the ceremony in the funeral grounds. This can be banned by this measuring step, he added.

Our main goal would be to convert burial grounds advantageous. Tackling the preservation concerns and converting these intact open places in the city a good enough spot and to make them as happening centres, says corporation official.
