SCHOLARSHIP FOR SOUTH INDIANS TO STUDY IN CAMBRIDGE: AN INITIATIVE BY BELLIAPPA.

Premananda Monappa  scholarship a long term endowment has been signed with Cambridge Commonwealth trust  to grant scholarships to the  students from South India to pursue post-graduate studies in the university of Cambridge in British Council, Chennai. The MOU was signed in the presence of  N Ravi of The Hindu and Michael O’Sulliven , Director of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust. Speaking in the function Michael O’Sulliven said that this initiative could change the lives of persons who would change the lives of others. P M Belliappa former IAS- bureaucrat has established the trust in memory of his father. Belliappa is incidentally the president of the association of British Scholars said that he hoped the new scholarship would produce another Manmohan Singh. Manmohan Singh is an alumnus of Cambridge.
