In Chennai, there are about 135 Police stations are available for diverse divisions including law order, criminal, all women and so on. Police Commissioner George has been informed that in most of the police stations, both the inspector and scribes are refusing to accept the complaints given by the public.
Subsequently, George has conducted a meeting at the commissioner office with all the inspectors and the scribes of the police stations. He gave suggestions on handling the public who are coming to police station to register their complaints kindly.
If victims come to report their complaints in the police station, both the Inspectors and scribes should receive the complaints
without any hesitation. Even though the complaints surface other police station limit, inspectors should not send back the public. If the complaints found to be valid, the CSR, which is the first stage of the FIR, has to be given to the public and necessary actions needs to be taken.
