Alerts for giant waves

From Colachal in Kumari district to Keezhakarai in Ramanathapuram district, warnings are announced for giant waves. Huge tides are expected till 11.30 pm on June 1. The waves may rise at a height anywhere between 9 to 16 feet due to which fishermen are said not to go for fishing.
Ban on fishing was on at eastern parts in Tamil Nadu and hence fishermen couldn’t carry out fishing in the past one and a half months. Now, the ban comes to an end and fishermen are eager to go for work. They are getting themselves prepared for fishing. Similarly, fishermen in Kumari district may go for fishing from June 2.
