Renovation on Harrington Road at a cost of Rs.9.9 Crores

The renovation work on the Harrington road starts on Saturday morning and the anticipated estimation of the project is Rs.9.9 Crores.
Harrington Road accommodates several commercial ventures, including various eateries, a bank and a saloon. The road has nearly 870 residential entities, two hospitals and seven schools, and a dozen of business establishments, says the residents association.
Though the traffic deviations have been placed already, many innovative plans that are wrapped under this project include concrete roads, granite walkway, tunnels for electricity ropes and vegetation enlargements and so on.
We wish to have our roads junk-free and walker friendly. Once we move towards the Chennai Corporation, they were very engrossed and ask for the best tender along with the road analysis, said a representative of the Harrington Road Residents Association.
Around 6 lakhs have been amassed from the residents to accomplish the survey and design work. After it got approval from the Chennai Corporation, then the funds were legitimated by the Corporation council and called for tenders.
Each and every segment of the work has been scrutinized by the group of the resident helpers so as to ensure the work is being made according to the design.
The whole project will get accomplished as per the standards within six months of time, said a senior Corporation official.
