The new Chennai Airport’s international terminal is waiting for its bursting venture soon. The ground work for this delay mainly ranges from deficiency of manpower to delay in constructing baggage slope.

Now it is seventeen months over, since the inauguration of the new facility, both the departures and arrival of the domestic terminal has been exploited by the people, but the departure in the international terminal alone is getting used by the travelers.

The scarcity of the customs workforces has deferred the operation of the arrival hall in the international terminal, says senior official of Airports Authority of India (AAI).

As poll gets over just now, it may take some time for the issuance of additional customs personnel. And once it is served, soon the new arrival hall will be operated, said an AAI official from New Delhi.

The work for modernization of the Chennai airport starts by 2008 at a cost of Rs.2000 Crores. Later in January 2013, the new-tangled domestic and international terminals were unveiled and open for use during April and August respectively.

The edification work of an additional slope that brings in the passage of belongings amid the aircraft and the new workstation is yet to be accomplished. It has been estimated for a cost of Rs. 10 Crore and it plays a vital role for qualified ventures at the terminal.
