Blistering Hot Climate – Motorists skip Helmets!

The prevailing elevated temperature, has brings down the risky situation, where the motorists are forced to omit their helmets.
On the other hand, doctors warned that the summer has high bang on focus levels and hence the want for helmets is more prominent.
On Sunday, according to the reporter’s observation, only 80 riders wear their helmets on the route of Kamarajar Salai, Sardar Patel Road and Santhome.
As per the statistics in hand with the State transport authority, on the total of about 9,705 accidents during last year, 3,125 were two-wheeler smashes. Of these, 350 were lethal accidents, ensuing in the death of 353 cases.
During his speech on the topic of ‘Dangers of Driving during summer, with no Helmet’, neurosurgeon K. Ganapathy said that, people has now caught in high risk, if they devoid of wearing helmets during this blistering hot climate. They will be missing out their focus on driving, and they might be getting into higher proportion of accidents.
Imposing the helmet rule has brought into practice, ever since the Supreme Court order issued in July 2010, ordering all bike producers to vend helmets along with the two-wheelers.
Still, the traffic police have determined to allow the motorists a petty freedom. The standard enforcement should be in place for the helmet rule, says Karuna Sagar, additional commissioner of police.
