Four-lane bridge across Korattur channel

A project to build a four-lane bridge across Korattur channel, on Aavin Dairy Road in Ambattur, will finally see the light of day.The project, which is being implemented by the water resources department (WRD), had been put on hold for shifting of underground cables. Due to the inordinate delay in replacing the narrow causeway with a bridge, travelling on the congested road, which links Ambattur industrial estate and Korattur, is a harrowing experience for motorists. On an average, nearly 1,000 vehicles, including MTC buses, ply on the causeway to reach Ambattur and other areas.
