The Prime Minister designate, Mr. Narendra Modi is in serious consultations with other senior members of BJP & RSS. Some information has been released regarding the ministers & their assigned portfolios.
Mr. Narendra Modi is staying at Gujarat Bhavan in New Delhi engaged in a meeting with senior members of BJP & RSS.
Priority or importance-wise, the 4 most important portfolios are Home, Finance, External Affairs & Defence. The latest information from the meeting has disclosed that a decision has been reached on these 4 portfolios.
It is reported that though Mr. Rajnath Singh, BJP President was interested in Home Ministry, Modi has decided to keep it with himself. However, if Mr. Rajnath Singh insists, Mr. Modi still would like to keep the department of internal security with himself.
Decision has been taken to entrust Mr. Arun Shouri with Finance. Mr. Shouri was a cabinet minister in Mr. Vajpayee’s cabinet.
It is also reported that Dr. Murali Manhar Joshi will get Defence and Mr. Arun Jaitley, External Affairs. Ms. Sushma Swaraj will be given the Ministry of Human Resources & Development.
