Chennai City yet to Face Peak Summer, Even Kathiri Turns Up!
Even though, the crest stage of Agni Natchathiram ‘Kathiri’ turns up in the city, on Sunday the utmost temperature received in the city dips down to only 36 degree Celsius. During the month of May, city has acknowledged a high temperature of 41 degree Celsius, but still the peak summer is yet to bang the city.
Comparing to the last few decades, peak temperatures have
been accounted during the end of the May month. During last year the
temperature was recorded as 42.7 degree Celsius on 27 May. On 2013, it has been
recorded as 42.5 degree celsius on 29 May. But this year, still we didn’t
receive the peak temperature.
S R Ramanan, Area Cyclone Warning Centre says that there is
no direct link amid Kathiri and peak temperatures. It all based on the
inception of the westerlies from the Arabian Sea, which will put off the sea
wind from locating in the city and fetching down the temperature, the cloud
passage and several other hidden aspects, he added.
Though there are no abrupt indications of promising
rainfall, the primacy signs that there is a likelihood of rainfall, weather
experts say.
For the next couple of days, Chennaiites will face an
average temperature amid 36 and 29 degree celsius, predicted by the
forecasters.
