Popular politicians who lost in this election

Several popular candidates from Tamil Nadu lost in this election.
Former cabinet ministers from DMK, T R Balu, Dayanidhi Maran, A Raja, and Jagathratchagan are among them.
Mr. C P Radhakrishnan, former Tamil Nadu president of BJP, who contested from Coimbatore lost. Another senior BJP leade, L Ganesan lost in South Chennai constituency. V. Gopalswmay, General Secretary of MDMK lost from Virudhunagar. Another MDMK candidate, Mallai Sathya lost from Kanchipuram constituency.
VCK leader, Mr.Thol Thirumavalavan who contested on the DMK front at Chidambaram lost. PMK leaser G K Mani, and former ministers A K Murthy and R Velu also lost the election.
Former ministers from the Congress party, Mr. E V K S Elangovan, Mr. Thirunavukkarasar, Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar lost.
Others from the Congress party who lost the election include Mr Karthi Chidambaram (son of Finance Minister Mr. P Chidambaram) and Arul Anbarasu (son of Mr. Anbarasu).
The president of Indian Democratic Party, Mr. Parivendhar and Kongu Nadu National Peoples’ Party general secretary, Mr. Iswaran also lost the election.
