LED TV maker Vu Technologies goes online to sell more

Makers of LED televisions and commercial display panels under the brand Vu, has tied up with online retailers such as Amazon, Ebay, Flipkart, Snapdeal and HomeShop18 to sell its products. The online platform has enabled the company to directly control the product pricing and after-sales service. For example, on the online platform, the company is able to sell a 50-inch high-definition LED TV for upwards of ₹50,000, which is at least 40-45 per cent cheaper than a similar model sold at retail outlets. In the first 10 days, the company sold over 500 units online. It plans to set up product display and experience centres to support its online sales.
The products are designed at the company’s headquarters in the US and manufactured in Japan and Taiwan. These products were launched in India in 2006.
