Sizzling Heat Tranquil Hotel Tenancy!

The blistering heat climate has not only affected the tone of the city’s populace, but also have an effect on the hotel tenancy rates.
Many city hotels perceive a drop in the number of visitors and thus it starts presenting weekend packages to magnetize the guests.
Several factors are whispered to be involved in minimizing the hotel occupancy that includes retardation in worldwide financial status that leads to dry industrial mood and a lesser amount of meetings; elevated count of hotel rooms offered across the city; domestic journey to the south lessen in summer; also general poll accounts a lot.
The occupancy rate prevails among the large hotels has descended to only 55% and small hotels with 65% which is faintly better, said T. Natarajan, secretary of South India Hotels and Restaurants Association.
The tenancy rate at the ‘The Park’ hotel stands for 60% in weekdays and only 50% in weekends. This is because people will not prefer south India in this blistering hot summer season. Also, the corporate travel dwindles, since the fiscal year ends, said Ivan Leo Woods, director of sales.

During the last week of April, the hotel tenancy rate dipped as the polls were being seized in Tamil Nadu.
