Yesterday Yahoo has announced the launch of international edition of Yahoo News Digest for both iOS and Android users in India. With this, the users will be able to stay updated with top international news, twice a day, on their mobile phones.
Everyday at 8am and 6pm local time, this app will deliver a summarised version of the top international news, in an easy-to-navigate design.
Using algorithmic and human editorial curation, each story is a collection of Atoms articles, maps, Wikipedia entries, videos, and photos that make it easy for users to condense the news quickly. The `Digests` provide a definitive summary of all the top International news.
The app will cover stories from important news categories like - News, Technology, Sports, Business, World etc.
Users can scan the summary, as well as read Atoms, which will convey the different dimensions of the story.
The Android version of the Yahoo News Digest has been introduced with a new homescreen widget that will display the most recent unread Digests for easy viewing. Moreover, the widget will keep a track of the Digests that have been read.
Yahoo News Digest uses the Summly technology, which was acquired by Yahoo last year.
The international edition of Yahoo News Digest for iOS and Android is available in English globally.
