New ‘3G Application for information about Counselling for engineering courses

Anna University has planned to introduce a ‘3G’ application for the details about the counselling for the engineering courses.
As soon as it is approved by the BE Counselling Committee, it would come into effect.
Anna University has adopted ‘the single file’ system for admissions in engineering courses. Application forms for the courses will be distributed from 3rd May.
Counselling for the academic year 2014-15 for these courses will start from the 3rd week of June.
Invitations will be sent to the students who participated in the group discussion on ’SMS Alert’. The facility to exchange information through SMS was introduced last year (2013).
The details about the time and date of the group discussion were informed 2 days earlier through SMS. The cell phone number of the candidates was obtained along with the applications.
Apart from the ususal invitation letter and the rank list released on the web site, this new facility of SMS messaging was very useful to the students.
So, this is being continued this year as well. Also, another new 3G application called ‘TNEA’ will be introduced by Anna University this year.
This free application can be downloaded on the cell phone.Once the application number is submitted, the details about date & time of the group discussion, etc will be available.
