Hike in gas price gets backdated to April 1

Plans were on for hike in gas price before commencement of election that planned to run between April 7 and May 12. However, agreeing to the Election Commission’s request for deferral, the hike in price was postponed. The hike was then put on hold, but now the oil minister, M. Veerapa Moily said it will be backdated to April 1.
