Applications for Medical Courses to be available from 1st week of May
8,75,000 students have written +2 exams in Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry. It has been announced that the results will be declared on 9th May as done in the last year.
Last year, the
applications for joining engineering courses were distributed between 4th May
& 20th May. The application forms for joining Medical
courses were distributed between 9th May & 20th May.
Government officials
have planned to complete the admissions of engineering & edical courses
before 31st July.
The application forms
for joining medical courses will be available from 1st week of
May.
There are 9 government
medical colleges in Tamil Nadu with 2,555 seats. 383 seats are reserved for All
India Quota. Balance 2,172 seats are open for Tamil Nadu applicants. For
dentistry, there is only one college – Tamil Nadu Dental College in Chennai.
The course BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) has only 100 seats. Out of these,
15 are reserved for All India Quota. 85 seats are available for applicants from
Tamil Nadu.
The number of seats
were increased in Madras Medical College & Stanley Medical College last
year.
Once the counselling
for medical courses gets completed, counselling for engineering courses will
commence.
Last year, the number of applications was relatively less – 700 less than the applications received during 2012.
