City temperature hit a high level on Tuesday with 37 degree Celsius. This then came down by two degrees with the strong winds from sea. On Monday, the temperature at regional meteorological centre (RMC) was recorded as 38.6 degree Celsius, whereas at Meenambakkam it was 39.2 degree Celsius. These are the highest of all the readings taken in March.

It then came down by two degrees and the met department gave out a word that the city is yet to experience many more sultry days during this summer. “There will be reduction in temperature by one or two degrees in the upcoming days, however it will soar back by end of April,” said one of the officials at India meteorology department, Chennai.

Speaking to one of the commuter, he said he experienced heat by the mid morning times. He added that bike ride was too hectic and the slow traffic added hassle to the troublesome condition.
