Tamil cinema creates a record

Tamil cinema has created a record with its massive number of films screened this year. It has been only 87 days since the beginning of 2014 and within this, over 57 films are screened till now (few of which are about to get released shortly). ‘Inam’ directed by Santhosh Sivan that is set for release on March 28 will be the 50th film to get screened this year.
The first set of 5 films was released on 3rd January. Next to this, it was on 10th January, there were two magnificent openings for Vijay’s Jilla and Ajith’s Veeram that got screened on the same day.
With no crisis for films in the upcoming days, films of top stars are in pipeline for release. It includes Rajnikanth’s Kochadayan, Kamal Hassan’s Vishwaroopam – 2 and Uthama Villain, Vikram’s Ai and Surya’s Anjaan. Vijay’s next film with A.R. Murugodoss and Ajith’s film with Gautham Menon are expected to get released for Diwali.
