BIS certification-Tatkal scheme introduced

A Tatkal scheme has been introduced by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to fast-track the issuance of licences for those applying for BIS Certification Marks Licence for their products.
The application processing time under the Tatkal scheme has been reduced to a maximum of 30 days apart from product testing time.
The application fee and inspection charges for the scheme would be double the regular charges. Applicants will also have to pay additional testing charges for priority testing of samples.
