The government has announced a new plan to accept sms (Short message Service) information as proof of information in many services currently in practice.
For example, sms messages sent while booking railway tickets
will be accepted in place of the printed recipt..This will be operative on 100
central government departmental services on a pilot trial basis.
There
is an overwhelming public support Called as �Mobile Services;, this facility
will be extended in all service oriented activities of the government. The
opening ceremony was held in New Delhi on Monday.
Electronics
& Information Technology Secretary Satya Narayana, launched mobile service
plan. Later, he told reporters:There are about 90 million mobile
subscribers in India.This recent infrastructure will bring all the government
services to the doorsteps of every citizen in the country. The services would be quite prompt.
Rajendra
Kumar, the Deputy Secretary of the Department, informed:Currently, the digital
signature is accepted. Digital signature through the cell will also become
acceptable. This facility for all government services will be implemented in
the first quarter of the New Year.In the first phase, 241 services including the
Right to Information Act, education, and Aadhaar card.
