In order to increase the living status of low class people staying in hut, various several amenities are supplied to the people by the Tamil Nadu Hut board. It is initiated in Chennai at first then it starts commencing in other parts of the Tamil Nadu since 1984.
In Chennai various apartments include: In Ezilnagar, OkiyamThuraipakam, about 228 Crore and 60 Lakhs valued 6000 multistored appartments; Okyam, Thuraipakam, about 106 Crore valued 2048 multistored appartments; Noochi Nagar, 45 crore and 39 Lakhs valued 628 multistored apparment; Ammankulam, Coimbatore about 23 Crore and 44 Lakh valued 792 multistore apartment was opened by chief minister J.Jayalalitha.
All these new houses are around 270 to 357 feet and valued from Rs 7,23,000. These houses are constructed with one hall, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and toilet. In the campus of these apartments, basic amenities like library, small shops, water facility are included.
During this function, various officials like Director, SheelaBalaKrishnan, Housing service department chief, ThangaKaliyaPerumal, head ThangaMuthu and Director Mr.ChandraSekar and several higher officials participated with their high interest.
