Onion price comes down to Rs. 18/- per kg

The arrival of onion in large quantities in the Koyambedu wholesale market, the price of onion crashed and was sold at Rs. 18/- per kg.
Vegetable to the Koyambedu market are transported from Dindigul, Madurai, Oddancahthiram, and the states of Andhra, Maharashtra, and Kerala.
The bulk increase in the quantity of vegetable on Friday led to considerable reduction in prices between Rs. 5/- to Rs.25/-.
It is worth noting that the last week price of onion was Rs. 40/- per kg and the smaller onion variety was sold at Rs. 70/-. Today, the respective prices are Rs. 18/- and Rs. 35/-. Tomato prices also have come down from Rs. 35/- per kg to Rs. 15/- per kg and the green peas, from Rs. 170/- to rs. 35/-. However, the price of drumstick remained high.
