TNPSC Group 2, Group 2A Exams: Over 3 Lakh Candidates Apply

More than 3 lakh candidates have applied for the TNPSC Group 2 and Group 2A recruitment examination so far, following the notification issued by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) last month.

The TNPSC released the Group 2 and Group 2A notification on August 11, announcing a total of 821 vacancies. This includes 41 Group 2 vacancies across 14 categories of posts, including Assistant Inspector and Deputy Commercial Tax Officer.

The notification also includes 780 Group 2A vacancies across 44 categories of posts, including Senior Inspector and various other positions in different departments.

Candidates were invited to apply through the official TNPSC examination website.

Over 3 Lakh Applications Received

The TNPSC Group 2 and Group 2A recruitment has attracted a strong response from graduates across Tamil Nadu. According to reports, more than 3 lakh candidates have submitted applications so far.

The deadline for submitting applications is September 9. With more candidates expected to apply before the closing date, the number of applicants is likely to increase further.

TNPSC Application Correction Dates

Candidates will be allowed to make corrections to their submitted applications from September 13 to September 15.

Applicants should use the correction window to carefully verify and update eligible details in their applications, if required.

TNPSC Group 2, 2A Preliminary Exam Date

The TNPSC Group 2 and Group 2A Preliminary Examination is scheduled to be held on November 1, 2026.

The examination will take place from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

TNPSC Increases Group 2, 2A Vacancies

Candidates had been urging the commission to increase the number of vacancies announced under the Group 2 and Group 2A recruitment, citing the high level of competition.

Following these demands, the TNPSC has announced an increase in the number of vacancies. The revised vacancy count is expected to provide additional opportunities for candidates preparing for the highly competitive Tamil Nadu government recruitment examination.
