TN CM Vijay Inaugurates Pinhole Pupilloplasty Centre in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay inaugurated the Pinhole Pupilloplasty Centre at Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital in Chennai on August 27.

The centre focuses on Pinhole Pupilloplasty (PPP), an advanced eye surgery technique developed by Dr. Amar Agarwal. It can help selected patients with corneal scars, irregular corneas, high corneal aberrations and certain post-surgical vision problems.

Instead of replacing the cornea, the procedure creates a small opening in the pupil to reduce distorted light and improve visual quality.

The centre was inaugurated during the 41st National Eye Donation Fortnight, highlighting new approaches to improving vision while preserving the natural cornea.
