Police instructs schools to install CCTV cameras on campus by 7th January

The Chennai police has instructed the schools to install CCTV cameras on their campus by 7th January. About three months ago, after a spate of kidnappings, police had asked schools to set up CCTV cameras at their entrances and inside the campus, and collect details of private transport operators ferrying children to and from school. Disappointed with the inaction of schools in ensuring the safety of their students, police called for a meeting of school heads and told them to make the arrangements by January 7.
