IPS Officer Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal Appointed as New DGP of Tamil Nadu

Senior IPS officer Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (Law and Order) of Tamil Nadu, replacing Sandeep Rai Rathore.

The state government finalized his appointment after considering the names of three senior IPS officers, including Rajeev Kumar and Sandeep Rai Rathore.

A 1994-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officer, Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal is currently serving as a senior official in the Border Security Force (BSF) in Delhi. Originally from Bathinda, Punjab, he has held several key positions during his police career in Tamil Nadu.

His previous roles include:

- SP of Theni and Thoothukudi districts

- Commissioner of Police, Chennai

- DIG of CBCID

- Commissioner of Police, Madurai

Known for his administrative experience and long service in law enforcement, Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal will now take charge as the head of the Tamil Nadu Police Department.
