Petrol and Diesel Prices Increased Again; Petrol Crosses Rs.108 Per Litre in Chennai

Fuel prices have increased once again in Chennai following a rise in global crude oil prices.

As of May 29, 2026, the price of petrol has gone up by 24 paise, taking the cost to Rs.108.01 per litre, while diesel prices increased by 23 paise, reaching Rs.99.78 per litre.

The continued rise in fuel prices is being attributed to the increase in crude oil prices in the international market, particularly after supply disruptions caused by conflicts in West Asian countries.

Public sector oil companies continue to revise fuel prices based on global market conditions. Economic experts have warned that petrol and diesel prices could see further increases in the coming days if crude oil rates remain high.
