Five new fire stations in Chennai

The government has ordered to set up five new fire stations in Chennai city. In the state of Tamil Nadu, there are totally 308 fire stations. Out of these, 33 are present in Chennai. In these stations, about eight hundred fire officials are engaged. The Tamil Nadu government has allotted Rs 370 crores for installing the 5 new stations in Chennai.
Rs 24 lakh per year is allotted for paying rent at these fire stations.
