Srivilliputhur Aadi Pooram Therottam: Local Holiday Declared on July 28 in Virudhunagar

In view of the Aadi Pooram Therottam (Chariot Festival) at the historic Sri Andal Temple in Srivilliputhur, the Virudhunagar district administration has declared Monday, July 28, 2025, as a local holiday.
To compensate, Saturday, August 9, 2025, will be observed as a working day for all government offices and institutions in the district.
Festival Highlights:
- July 28: Main chariot procession (Therottam) and Ekanta Thirumanjanam
- July 23–31: Daily palanquin processions and night rituals
- Devotional events honoring Sri Andal and Sri Rangamannar
