Rain Relief for KTCC & North Tamil Nadu After Dry Spell!
After nearly 10 consecutive dry days, residents of KTCC (which includes Chennai and its surrounding districts) can finally expect some respite as short spells of rain are likely to return starting today. According to the Tamil Nadu Weatherman, these rains will be sporadic and mainly occur during the evening or night hours for the next 10 days.
However, not all areas will receive rainfall consistently. These showers are expected to be of the *“hit-and-miss”* variety — localized and brief, rather than widespread or intense. South Chennai, which saw significantly less rainfall during June, may finally get a share of the showers.
Today’s Chennai Weather Outlook:
- Very good chance of short spells of rain in several areas
- Rains will be spotty and passing in nature
- Expect localized showers rather than city-wide downpours
Rain Likely in Other North TN Districts:
Residents in the following districts can also expect isolated rainfall over the coming days:
- Ranipet
- Vellore
- Tiruvannamalai
- Salem
- Namakkal
- Dharmapuri
- Krishnagiri
- Tirupattur
Note: These showers are not monsoon-related, but caused by convective activity (Veppa Salanam) — a result of intense surface heating and local weather patterns.
