Superb news!! Free prasadam to be provided throughout the day in the famous Palani Murugar Temple!!
Every year, about 1.20crore devotees visit the famous Lord Dhandayuthapani Swamy Hill Temple in Palani in Dindigul district in Tamil Nadu. It is known to us that Palani is one of the 6 abodes of Lord Murugar.
The superb piece of information is that a new scheme to provide free food throughout the day has been implemented here. It is known that panchamirtham was issued as prasadam during aaru kala puja.
From yesterday, 29th of June 2025, a scheme to provide free prasadam throughout the day started in the Palani hill temple. The scheme was inaugurated by Food and Food Supplies minister Mr. A.R. Chakrapani.
The minister later explained that under this scheme25 lakhs devotees would be provided free prasadam or food every year. Timings would be from 10 am in the morning to 6pm in the evening.
Various prasadhams or foods that would be provided to the devotees on rotational basis are panchamirtham, sambar sadham or sambar rice, venn pongal or white pongal, thakkali sadam or tomato rice, elumichai sadham or lemon rice, thayir sadam or curd rice and vegetables kootu etc. This superb scheme has been appreciated by many devotees now.
