District Govt Headquarters Hospitals to be opened soon in 19 districts in 25 places in TN!!
In 19 districts at 25 places in Tamil Nadu, district government headquarters hospitals are being constructed at a cost of Rs 1018 crores. The health minister of TN Mr. M. Subramanian mentioned that these hospitals would be opened soon.
Yesterday in Chennai, the health minister made his presence felt when he inaugurated a medical workshop for improving the quality of obstetrics and anaesthesiology. He presented awards to those doctors who worked in the field of anaesthesiology.
The health minister later spoke about how measures are being taken to reduce the maternal deaths at the time of childbirths. In 2021-22 when the current govt took the charge the maternal mortality rate was 90.5 per lakh births and it reduced to 52 in 2022-23. In 2023-24, the maternal mortality rate reduced to 45.5 and last year it further came down to 39.6.
In the same way, in 2021-22 the infant mortality rate was 10.4 per 1000 births and it reduced to 7.4 in 2024-25. The health minister assured that in the coming year the maternal mortality rate as well as infant mortality rate would become zero or nil.
It is noteworthy that the chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin would be bringing 208 urban health centres and 50 new primary health centres into public use. The superb piece of information is that work is going on in 19 districts at 25 places to construct district government headquarters hospitals at a cost of Rs 1018 crores. These hospitals would be opened for public use soon.
