Weight loss isn’t just about hitting the gym - it’s a holistic lifestyle approach, says renowned wellness expert Dr. Kousalya Nathan, speaking at a session hosted by KALM in Chennai.

She emphasized that while regular physical activity boosts metabolism and supports circulation, it often leads to increased hunger and overcompensation in food intake. “Many feel they’ve ‘earned’ extra calories post-workout, but this can undo the benefits,” Dr. Nathan noted.

According to her, effective and sustainable weight loss involves a balanced diet, mindful eating, quality sleep, stress management, and an understanding of one’s hormonal and aging processes.

“Exercise is just one piece of the puzzle. Pair it with a healthy diet plan, sleep hygiene, and lifestyle changes for long-term success,” she advised.

The talk was part of KALM’s ongoing initiative to promote healthy living in Chennai.
