Super news!! About 1.20 cr people benefited by drinking water projects across TN!!
The sensational piece of news that has now come out from the TN govt is that 1.20 cr people have been benefited by the 71 drinking water projects implemented at a cost of Rs 9000 cr.
Tamil Nadu is fast becoming urbanised because of housing schemes, road facilities, drinking water projects etc that have been implemented ever since the new govt led by the chief minister Mr. M.K. Stalin took over. This was stated in the TN govt press release.
It added that the panchayats are turning into town panchayats, town panchayats into municipalities and municipalities into corporations etc. Point to be noted is that several developmental works are being carried out with an annual allocation of Rs 1000 cr in the corporations, municipalities and town panchayats and Rs 5000 cr for municipalities and town panchayats under the Kalaignar Urban Development Scheme and allotment of Rs 582 cr under Namakku Naame Thittam or scheme.
As many as 71 drinking water projects have been implemented in 4 municipal corporations, 12 municipalities, 49 town panchayats, 10565 rural settlements etc. These have been providing 751.56 million litres of protected drinking water per day at a mammoth cost of Rs 9011.45 cr. Nearly 1.21 cr people are getting benefit from the drinking water projects.
