For the pavement traders in Thiruvallur who have registered, the scheme of offering loans through various public welfare schemes by the central and state governments is already in progress.

In this regard, a camp was organized for the members of the women`s Self-help groups in the Thiruvallur Local Administration Complex to register their names and details to receive loan assistance from the Government Welfare Schemes.

Thiruvallur City Council President Udhayamalar Pandiyan presided over this camp. Thiruvallur City Commissioner Ka. Rajalakshmi delivered a special address during the camp, in which she shared that 741 members have registered in the Thiruvallur City Administration and received Identity Cards, and they are all pavement traders. The government has been initiating various schemes of financial assistance with simpler conditions so that these pavement traders will be in a position to repay the loan without much hardship.

Loans are distributed through banks under the Prime Minister`s `Swanithis se Samrithi` schemes of the Central Government, not only to the pavement women traders but also to the members of their families.

To receive this loan, the interested pavement trader needs to register with the Identity Card for Pavement Trader, Aadhar Card, other personal details, and cellphone number in the Local Administration. They must have repaid the previous loan of Rs. 10,000/-, and in the present situation, a loan of Rs. 20,000/- is to be offered.

Furthermore, the women in the respective areas must undertake the responsibility of segregating the garbage before giving it. They should create awareness among other citizens to segregate garbage as bio-degradable and non-bio-degradable.

Note that the women`s self-help group members and other women who perform exceedingly well in this regard will receive prizes. Special prizes will also be given to chosen candidates who adopt simple procedures to keep their residential streets clean and without garbage.

After this address, the pavement traders proceeded to register their details to receive various welfare measures initiated by the Central and State Governments. City Administration Health Officer Govindaraj, Women`s Scheme Social Organizer Santhi, and members of several women`s Self-Help Groups participated in this camp.
