Students of class 12 in the TN Govt schools must feel lucky for this reason?

It is well known to us that class 12 decides the career of a student. On one hand, there are many students who don`t know what to pursue after completing their class 12. On the other hand, there are many students who do not pursue higher education also due to certain reasons. In this aspect, the career guidance for class 12 students has now gone to another level in Tamil Nadu.

The class 12 students studying in the government schools in TamilNadu are being taken to various  colleges and universities across Tamil Nadu by the school education dept or SED and this is under the Naan Mudhalvan scheme. The main objective behind this is to motivate the students to pursue higher education after completing class 12. It is learnt that the school education dept has been taking many steps to track those students who haven`t joined any college after completing their class 12.

The school education dept has asked the district level primary education officers, district education officers and regional education officers of all govt higher secondary schools to keep an eye on the students and carry out  the exposure visit to colleges and universities in Tamil Nadu. The schools have been instructed by the SED to take the students in batches of 10 to 15 for the tour.

It is noteworthy that from last year the SED has set up assist centres at all district collectorates to track those students who did not join any college after schooling.  From 20th of October 2022 onwards, the SED has been organising trips for the students to many colleges and universities  to encourage all the students to pursue higher education.

It was brought to light by a higher education counselling session in October 2022 that out of the total of 79762 students as manya s 8249 students haven`t joined any college after completing their class 12.  The SED has been showing more interest now to track these students through many methods. Point is that those students who have been tracked (with the help of friends and family members etc) were counselled on the importance of getting a college degree.
