As per the Right to Free Compulsory Education Act, parents/students can apply for admission to private schools from 20th March.
A 25% quota for the students of the economically backward category below the poverty line is allotted for admission to private schools.
Up to 1 Lakh seats for admission to the LKG to the 1st Standard is given each academic year under the 20% quota. The requisite fees are paid by the Tamil Nadu State Government itself to the concerned schools.
In this scenario, for the 25% quota of admissions due for the academic year 2023-24 can be utilized by applying from 20th March until 20th April!
At this juncture, the President of the Federation of the Private School Association, Arumugam has written a letter to the Director of the Private Schools.
In this letter, it is mentioned that the State Government of Tamil Nadu has NOT paid the school fees due for this 25% quota for the economically backward cadre over the LAST 2 YEARS! Shockingly, the State Government is getting ready for the 25% quota for the coming academic year 2023-24!
As such, the State Government of Tamil Nadu MUST CLEAR THE ARREARS FEES BY IMMEDIATE PAYMENT TO THE CONCERNED PRIVATE SCHOOLS. IN CASE OF FAILURE TO DO THIS, A DECISION WILL BE TAKEN TO REVIEW THIS 25% ADMISSION QUOTA FOR THE ECONOMICALLY BACKWARD CADRE!
