Soon, the famous Anna Flyover in Chennai would look different!!

On 1st of July 2023, the famous Anna Flyover would be completing 50 years. This is Chennai city`s first ever flyover is a well known fact. Now, the Highways dept has employed workers to fix the structural deterioration of this flyover. To reflect the Dravidian essence, the makeover of this flyover has started.
It was later mentioned by an officer belonging to the state Highways dept officer that in another 15 days works like plastering and bordering would be completed. The landscaping would start after the completion of these 2 works.
Under the pillars of the flyover, a new garden would be making its presence felt. By the end of March 2023, the entire work would get over. Tricone torches, a symbol of Dravidian movement and a 6 foot tall lion would be installed around the Anna Flyover.
It is learnt that the curving arm of the flyover would be painted in elephant gray color. The flyover would be illuminated and it would also be a part of the renovation works.
In 1971, the foundation stone of this 800m flyover was laid by the former CM of TN Mr. K. Karunanidhi and in July 1973 the flyover was inaugurated. Since then, the public have started using this important flyover in Chennai.
It is superb to mention here that the renovated flyover would have seats to help those people who are waiting at the American embassy for visa interviews etc. It is now said that it is apt that this flyover was named after the former CM of Tamil Nadu Mr.CN. Annadurai has seats especially for senior citizens who stand in the queue for long periods.
Box like cubicles would have the police personnel who stand guard on the flyover overlooking the USA consulate. According to the Highways dept, the cubicles cannot be made bigger without affecting the structural stability.
