The influenza fever has been spreading now in Chennai and more cases are getting reported every day. Point is that the Coronavirus infection pandemic hasn`t yet ended completely.
The Chennai Corporation would be setting up fever camps in the streets with 3 or more fever cases. This was mentioned by the health minister Mr.M. Subramanian. He was busy inaugurating a fever camp yesterday in Tiruvallur. The state of TN has intensified its fight against influenza fever.
It is learnt that in the age group 15 to 65 as many as 167 persons have been affected with influenza virus now. In localities like Kottivakkam, Neelankarai, Anna Nagar, Perungudi and Egmore etc in Chennai there are 100 fever camps present to treat the flu cases. There are 100 camps in the district of Thiruvallur now.
The people with symptoms like cold, cough, fever etc could go to the camps and get themselves tested for flu.
The health minister explained that from tomorrow if the streets have more than 3 flu cases then the patients could get tested at the fever camps that would be organised by the health department.
Teachers have been asked to send the students to their homes if they showed symptoms like cold, cough and fever etc.
Till now, in Tamil Nadu, there are 385 AH1N1 or influenza cases and 9 patients are getting treated in the general hospitals. The 285 patients are getting treated at private health care centres.
As many as 53 kids below the age of 5 have been affected by influenza now.
In the age group 15 to 65 as many as 167 persons are being tested for the flu infection. Above 65age, 72 persons are being treated.
The public need not panic now as the situation is not alarming. This was stated by the health minister.
