New tariff for electricity consumption effective from today! (Saturday, 10th September)

Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission has revised the tariff for electricity consumption upwards and this revised tariff comes into effect from today (Saturday, 10th September) throughout Tamil Nadu!
It was announced that the rates for electricity consumption will be revised upwards by Rs. 55/- to Rs. 1130/-. As per this, right from 101 Units consumption to the different higher groups of consumption, electricity charges are revised upwards.
Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission. Has informed that the first 100 units of consumption are free for the consumers. And for those who consumed up to 200 units, at monthly rates of Rs. 27.50 per month, Rs. 55/- will be needed to pay for 2 months!
For consumption of 300 units in 2 months, at a monthly rate of Rs. 72.50, the charges will be Rs. 155/- for 2 months. For consumption up to 400 units, it will be Rs. 295 for 2 months at the rate of Rs. 147.50 per month!
In case 500 units are consumed, Rs, 595/- has to be paid at the rate of Rs. 297.50 per month!
In this scenario, suggestions/feedback were sought from the electricity-consuming citizens, and this increased electricity consumption tariff comes into effect from today (Saturday, 10th September) as announced by Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission.
