Information is gathered that there may be a shortage of the domestic LPG cooking gas cylinder used by the citizens in Chennai Metro City!
The Gas purification Plant for domestic cooking gas owned by Petroleum Corporation Limited is operating in Chennai Manali.
Recently, certain restrictions were imposed on this plant for the reason that pollution control features in this plant are not sufficient leading to more pollution in the atmosphere in the neighbourhood/surroundings!
In an order released by Tamil Nadu, Pollution Control Board mentioned that this plant must henceforth operate only on its 75% plant capacity
It is felt with anxiety that this order may lead finally to a shortage of domestic LPG cooking gas cylinders!
As such, the petroleum dealers, and LPG cooking gas cylinder distributors are quite anxious!
10.5 Million Tons of petrol, diesel, and cooking LPG Gas manufactured in this Chennai Manali Plant is sufficient enough to distribute to take care of the demands of the State of Tamil Nadu and other neighbouring States!
In this scenario, it is feared that the order released by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board leading to lesser production may create a shortage of these items!
It is especially feared that there will be an acute shortage of LPG cooking gas cylinders for the citizens!
However, as the regulations placed on the Chennai Petroleum Corporation are only temporary, the issues of concern will be solved shortly and full production capacity may be resumed shortly as the corrective actions are in progress at full swing!
