New: GST now even for cancellations!!!

The central government has announced that henceforth GST (GOODS & Sales Tax) will be charged for cancellations such as cancellation of rooms booked in hotels, Railway tickets, or any entertainment programmes!
With the country under great economic stress, the central government has taken the measure of imposing GST even on the essential; grocery items such as rice, pulses, and milk! Further, the central government has imposed an increased GST of 18% from the present 12% even on stationery items used by children such as pencils, sharpeners, and erasers!!
In this scenario, the central government has now come up with another proposal: Cancellation of reservations made for hotel rooms, train tickets, and entertainment programmes will now entail a GST while getting the refund!!
In a notification released by the central government regarding this, it is mentioned that while cancelling the booking made for hotel rooms or railway tickets or for attending some entertainment programmes, the concerned will be given a refund. Now, it is announced that this refund for cancellation would entail a GST!
Further, this new GST will not apply to the rooms or lodges rented out by religious or public service organizations!
