Across Chennai, if you come across caution sign boards then don�t be surprised!!
It is now mentioned that GCC would be putting up caution sign boards at 30 locations in Chennai and soon revamp the road infrastructure in Chennai. Information is that GCC would install reflective studs at 2700 locations and hazard markers at 162 locations in Chennai. At 1874 locations, there would be flexible meridian markers also. This was mentioned by some officials belonging to GCC.
It was mentioned by the Tamil Nadu govt that the state of Tamil Nadu registered the highest number of road accidents 62685 4before the Coronavirus pandemic. The state of Madhya Pradesh registered 50669 road accidents and it came second. It is amazing that Mizoram state registered just 62 road accidents, lowest ever in a year. In 2021, in the city of Chennai there were as many as1008 road accidents and next was Coimbatore with 840 road accidents.
The lowest was from the district of Nilgiris with just 33 accidents in 2021. In the month of January in 2022 Chennai registered 441 accidents and 473 in February 2022. As many as 98 persons in January and 92 persons in February 2022 have died due to the road accidents in Chennai.
