Paying property tax through online- What do the Chennaites feel?

Many Chennai residents have paid their property and professional taxes online but they are unhappy now. Reason for that was because the amount gets debited from their account while paying the tax amount but no receipts have been issued as proof for the paid amount. The issue has been going on for 10 days and this was as per some residents and corporation tax collectors.
On 24th March 2022, a resident paid his property tax of amount Rs 11800 through online. Truth is that till now he hasn�t received any receipt or any refund of his money. Inspite of submitting a written complaint along with bank statement, no action has been taken till now. To avoid issues like bouncing cheques etc, the tax collectors have been encouraging payment through an online system.
According to a tax collector it was clear that he has been getting 10 to 15 calls every day from the residents regarding the amount getting debited but no receipt issued. The corporation website also does not show the exact position regarding the tax amount collected. Checking the pending dues online just reveals that the tax hasn�t been paid yet. The issue exists even for other taxes like trade license renewal fee also.
It was later mentioned by a tea stall owner at Koyambedu that he had paid the trade renewal license charge using his debit card but he did not receive any receipt for that till now. The issue was not with the website and this was revealed by a senior official belonging to GCC.
