Attention: Visitors to Chennai Metro City: Chengalpattu - Paalaru Overbridge complete!

The New Maamandur Paalaru Overbridge renovation construction work is complete and the bridge is now open for public service!
There are 2 old overbridges situated in the Chennai-Trichy Highway, Chengalpattu District, Mamandur near Madhuranthagam.
Out of this, the old overbridge leading to the Chengalpattu route was damaged.
As such, the repair work was taken up on behalf of the Department of Highways.
The repair work commenced on 7th February
As the repair work was in progress, the vehicles coming from the southern districts to Chennai were diverted to move via Meyyur near Mamandur. The vehicles proceeded via Pilapur, Kavoor, Kaviyathandalam, Orakkaattuppettai, overbridge to Pazhathottam and reach the Kanchipuram-Chengalpattu Highway to move to Chennai Metro City.
Meanwhile, the old bridge across Paalaaru has been renovated and the public transport was resumed. Once this construction work is completed, another bridge alongside this bridge will also be taken up for repairs. This project had already been announced by the district collector.
Accordingly, the construction work on the new bridge over Paalaru commenced. Subsequently, the vehicles coming to Chennai Metro City from the southern districts of Tamil Nadu were again diverted on a different route!
In this status, this new bridge construction is now complete and then has been opened for service.
Due to this, it has now been announced that the vehicles proceeding from Trichy towards Chennai Metro City NEED NOT TAKE ANY DIVERSION HENCEFORTH AD TAKE any NORMAL ORIGINAL ROUTE!
