Point is that the TN government is taking steps to identify cancer in the early stage itself to treat the patients and save their lives.

On Monday, the chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin inaugurated Rela Institute Cancer Centre or RICC offering a comprehensive and all-under one roof cancer care centre. The CM later spoke about how diagnosing cancer late would add to the woes. It is true that at present less than one third of cancers are identified in the first and second stage itself. As a result, the treatment would be difficult.

He added that the state government is taking steps to identify cancer early to treat the patients. To improve the treatment outcome, the TN government is taking steps to identify atleast two-thirds of cancer in the first or second stage itself.  Infrastructure in the cancer hospitals would be improved. The chief minister appreciated the efforts taken by RICC towards cancer and said the centre would play a huge role in enhancing the condition of the people. Truth is that this new cancer centre would add a feather to Chennais cap of being the healthcare capital of India. More than 40percent of domestic and international health tourists benefit from Chennai healthcare.

The newly opened cancer centre would provide superb care with advanced medical and surgical technology. This was as per Dr. Mohammad Rela, CMD, Rela Hospitals. He threw light on how the hospital would continue to provide cancer treatment for the beneficiaries of the chief ministers comprehensive health care insurance scheme.
