The news that on Women�s Day the Chennai airport was fully operated by women office staff has been the topic for discussion for many now.
Normally, many flights would be operated by women on this special day and this has been in practice for the last 20 years. On this Women�s Day on 18th March 2022, ATC or Air traffic control room was taken up by women staff. For safe operation of flights, the control room plays an important role. Landing and take-offs of flights would also be based on the control room instructions. The sensational information is that out of 450 air traffic controllers on Chennai airport 287 are women. All women were there on duty yesterday.
All 274 flights were operated safely by the women staff at the airport and this was the first time ever the entire control of the ARC was under women staff. This was one of the biggest achievements and women are capable of doing anything men do. This was as per Mr. R. Madhavan, Chennai airport Managing Director. Yesterday, women staffs guided the special aircraft in which Indian Vice-president Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu came to Chennai.
