This piece of news might make many employees of the Tamil Nadu government and teachers feel happy!!
The latest news is that the requests have been intensified now regarding implementing the old pension scheme for the Tamil Nadu government employees.
It must be taken into account that the paperless budget for the current financial year was filed in the Rajasthan state assembly. It was said that the new pension scheme would be cancelled and the old pension scheme would be implemented in Rajasthan. This brought huge happiness to many government employees and teachers in that state.
Point is that for various other states also request regarding implementing old pension scheme has come out. As a part of this, the request about implementing an old pension scheme in Tami Nadu has been intensified now.
The primary schools teachers association has sent a letter to the chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin to implement the old pension scheme. It was mentioned in the letter that since the year 1968 pension amounts have been issued for all the government employees and school teachers in the state of Tamil Nadu. In the beginning, the pension amount of Rs 20000 was provided and after many protests it was slowly increased.
In TN, after the High Courts judgements and after many protests from 2004 onwards the pension amount of the teachers and government employees were cancelled and a new pension scheme came into effect. Pension amount was not given under the new scheme. Point to be noted is that the welfare of those who joined the government jobs after 1st April 2004 in TN was against the welfare of the government.
In the letter to the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, it was mentioned that the new pension scheme must be cancelled and the old pension scheme must be implemented and an announcement regarding this must come out in the forthcoming budget itself.
